define long range?

I used to hang out at "red's 100 yard indoor range".. some friends and I would repair broken guns and take them there.. too see if Red would buy some.. and to shoot them.. which took guts, but none ever blew up in our hands.. eventually the ATF raided one of my friends houses, cuz he was buying and selling so many guns.. I was not there, but they came in through 2 doors and a few windows.. and in the end they just made him fill out some paper work.. those were good times.. oh and I used to make silencers and other toys.. those were the days.. hehehe

long range tho? like shooting deer at about 150 yards or so? or shooting at targets that are WAY farther.. maybe 300-400 yards or so.. ? my dad's family has a ranch.. just short of 1000 acres.. it used to be over that.. but some was sold to a neighbor who needed a new way to get to his ranch..

anyways.. free hand or with a scope?

Hey man, where you located? I'd like to start shooting long range 300 to 600 yards. Found a guy that teaches a long range shooting course. Thought about taking that first.

Got a 7 mag but likely need new optics with elevation and windage adjustments. Lmk where and I might come meet ya for a day of target shooting.

My dad's family's ranch is in Webb County.. near Laredo, Texas.. "Las Tiendas Ranch"

this video shows deer at 100-150 yards away.. behind the feeders is foliage.. but we want to clear out some of that brush behind both feeders..

I miss this video camera, which was stolen.. those video shots are pretty good, considering how far away they are.. my next camera is supposed to be better with these long distance views..

Used to be able to reach out to 1000 yards at best of the west but theyíve shut it down due to complaints from some new neighbors/developers. I think you can get out to 600 at copper creek still.

There are multiple ranges in N Texas where you can stretch your rifle's legs.
Triple C Ranch in Cresson has 300-900yd range with around 10 shooting positions and also has a 1000-1800 yd range with over 90 plates set up.
You can pay for day passes to use this range. This is the home range for North Texas Multigun and is run by the owner of Shooter's Source.
They have regular PRS matches as well as 3 gun and pistol stuff.

Extreme Tactics and Training Solutions (E.T.T.S) outside Waxahatchi also has some long range lanes. Not sure the distance but you have to be a member or in a competition to shoot there.

Old thread is old, but Triple C is where Iíve been going. Iíll be shooting their PRS match this weekend again. Itís a nice range, and worth the drive.
