Jeepers in Florida....
For those of you near Orlando (or those who want to take a drive), the Lynx Bus Service is having its annual city bus driving competition, the Bus Roadeo. Lynx has this annual event to find out who their best drivers are, and then those people advance to another level of competition against other drivers from other bus services.
Besides the free food, the open house, and the games, they are putting on a jeep show. All models and eras of jeeps are welcome, entry is free, and spectator judging will determine who gets the trophies.
Keep in mind, this is a relatively informal show/display being put on to add to the "entertainment" of the day. Families of drivers come to watch their driver compete, interested community members come to see the Lynx facilities, and mooches like us show up to sit around in the sun for the day (Doesn't that sound like fun after the winter we've had?) to talk about jeeps and eat the free BBQ.
This is possibly the most laid back jeep show I've ever been to, but it is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones without a DJ playing dance music ridiculously loud or an announcer trying to get you to stop by the parts department for a fee oil change after the show. (Not that there's anything wrong with that; I just like a change of pace.)
Jeep show registration starts at 9 AM Saturday, March 13 and runs until 2pm when the prizes will be awarded. Clubs will be allowed to park together as the lot is plenty large enough to accommodate this. Feel free to bring your shade tents and chairs, Remote Control Jeeps, or whatever.
The show will be at 2500 Lynx Lane, Orlando FL, 32802 (Just off John Young Parkway and Princeton Street)
Free Lunch for all!
Trophies for 1st 2nd & 3rd Place Best of Show.
