Snake Bait Trail

Anybody wheel this ever? I've heard of it but never been...wanting to check it out. I've heard its out in the Spangler OHV area but I've also heard it's near Panamint Valley which is way East of Spangler

Anybody got coordinates?

I'm sure Bender knows

Bender does know....

It's in Ridgecrest at Wagon Wheel OHV

35.5954779, -117.4742592

Its not a long trail.....but it has its moment at the beginning. Ridgecrest is a different animal than JV....can't really use any horsepower out there

Awesome man! Ridgecrest is wild the one time I went! Some fun stuff

Hope to get this trail and some other random junk into the plans this year. Thinking maybe early April i'll head down there

Leavin Mon morning for Calico/Odessa trip...but only got 3 days so no time to shoot up to Ridgecrest...i'm already 340 miles out from Barstow

Thanks for info!

Snake bait has a nice gatekeeper obstacle, but it is short and regarded as one of the easier trails out there. There are many other trails out there (we won't post GPS) that are the hardest in California. I like the area way more than Johnson Valley.

The gate keeper(Snake pit)...

Other than the first obstacle the trail is pretty mild. We cut it back in the day with full body rigs on 33s-35s and built a return road. Then we started just driving to the top of the little canyon...

The drop down the other side is really steep and straight down. For even more of a challenge drive up to the left and follow the ridge line all the way down to the South. Some serious down hill drop off pucker factor fun.
Lots of much harder trails in the area and a whole lot of fun. Snake Bait, Windy Ridge, URF Canyon, Punisher, Big Pimpin', Schizo, Eliminator, Escalade, Devil's Reject and more.
