Tuesday evening Bump...

This buggy has an excellent power to weight ratio and is perfect for tight technical trails such as Lion's Den at Harlan KY or Rattle Rock at Windrock.

It will do Lions Den from start to finish in 1st gear in less than 3 minutes without ever pushing in the clutch. Its a VERY capable, lightweight rig.

Unfortunately, I am usually driving it, not taking pictures of it, so I don't have much. We just got back from Moab with it and a buddy of mine took some pictures of it so I'll see if he can upload them. They are only a week old so that would be pretty current lol.

Actually, its still in very good shape. It could use a new coat of paint but honestly its not beat up. The passenger side has got a few bruises, but nothing bad. Right front fender tube is slightly tweaked from a flop, the passenger cowl has a small dent from the tree on Lion's Den, and there is a scrap behind the door opening from a huge rock on Wrecking Ball in Johnson Valley. But the cage is all straight, no bent tubes or anything like that. Lower links have some loving but heims are all perfect and it needs absolutely nothing (other than that strut fixed) to go wheeling.

Both axles just gone through. Front axle shafts have 2 rides on them, rear axles are literally brand new. Rode 2 days in Moab on easier trails (no ledges or high stress situations). Driveshafts were just serviced and everything is good there. New rear output yoke and u-bolts on T-case. Light bar is brand new, just installed it before Moab just in case we got caught out at night. It hasn't been on more than a minute at most. Just turned it on to make sure it worked.

this rig flat goes anywhere. if the spare change were in my pockets it would be in my garage already. will run through lions den at harlan without even pushing the clutch in.

Eh, possibly.

I'm really looking to get into a similarly built Cherokee. Not interested in anything Renix though. I'm pretty particular too. I don't cut corners in the stuff I build, and if I did trade, I would expect the same out of the traded vehicle.

Wheel base is 103". It could easily be stretched out more in the rear. Could go to around 106-108 without much work.

As far as trades, I'm open for ideas, but I need details. Asking to trade for a Jeep without giving any description doesnt exactly excite me lol!

I'm gonna pass on that. Built this to get away from leaf springs. Not interested in going backwards. If I get a Cherokee it'll end up linked front rear.

Issue is we all know that jeeps are 50 cents on the dollar when selling. So for me to trade for something that's not close to what I'm looking for will cost me way more in the long run because I'm gonna have to invest a lot more to get where I want to be.

Just throwing this out there, I do also have a windhsield for it. It needs a new piece of glass but its a real Willys frame that has been modded to fit the added slope of the cage. Make the jeep look like its doing 100 mph while sitting still.

Pulled front strut off and sent it back to ORI. They will have it tomorrow and I should have it back in a couple of weeks!

Got the strut back from ORI today. I should have time to get her rolling again this weekend. Surprised there hasn't been more interest in this. Lots of trade interest but not what I'm looking for yet. I've literally got almost 3 times asking price invested in this rig!

I love that color XJ. Its actually one of my favorites. I'm looking for something a little more hardcore, but still has to be streetable. Minimum of HP44/8.8 axles. Preferably not full width but not completely against it. Doesn't need to be daily driveable, but if I need to hit the interstate it has to be reliable enough to drive a few hours.
