93 K1500 TTB Blazer

1993 K1500 TTB Blazer $1000obo

Unable to use this for the family as the seat belts do not lock like modern vehicles for car seats nor are there car seat mount attachment points.

Build thread: https://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/gene...ed-rodney.html

Stock rebuilt TBI 350 (no paperwork) with ~15K miles since rebuild
1) New waterpump 3K miles ago
2) New alternator 1K miles ago
3) New power steering pump when hydroboost installed
4) Flowtech mid-length headers to 3” exhaust with 4” exit
5) 212K on the odometer
6) Intake gasket leaks small amount of oil

4L60 trans rebuilt ~15K miles ago (no paperwork)
1) TransGo shift kit
2) Corvette servo
3) Stock drum/planetaries (rest of TransGo kit included for clutch springs etc)
4) Trans pan with welded bungs for drain and temp sender
5) Temp gauge where stock ash tray was
6) Delay between park/neutral and any gear and also slow shifting between 2-3. Holds gears just a delay/slow shift. Truck pulled a 10.5K forklift and trailer 3 times and trans temps never rose above 180’s

D50 TTB in front
1) Trussed and plated beams
2) Beams lengthened 2” set to zero camber and factory caster (axle shafts spliced 2” longer)
3) Welded DOM sleeve into pivots to utilize cheap Chevy leaf spring bushings
4) 3.55 gearing, open differential-extra 3rd member included
5) Backlash tighter side of Dana Spicer spec and like new wear pattern
6) Double cardon driveshaft
7) New ball joints, wheel bearings, spindle bearings, and Moog u-joints
8) New brake pads, calipers, and turned rotors
9) Converted D50 to radius arm using Trailgear flex joints and 2” DOM (inserts are tight)
10) New Pro Comp 3.5” F150 lift coils
11) 5.5” uptravel
12) No bumpstops installed at this time

D70 in rear
1) traction bar, welded to tubes and diff housing
2) 3.55 gearing, open differential
3) Backlash middle of Dana Spicer spec and good wear pattern
4) New shoes, wheel cylinders, spring kit, turned drums-no parking brake
5) New driveshaft
6) Custom shackle flip with 3 shackle settings
7) RuffStuff spring perches/u-bolt plates and 5/8” u-bolts

Steering is a pseudo double swing-arm that utilizes the factory GM steering gear box pitman and idler arms. A connecting bracket holds both mounts for the draglinks which go to a high steer welded to the knuckle. All draglinks use brand new RuffStuff ” heim joints and are 1.125” DOM slugged with 9/16” 120K psi steel rod. There is a slight steering radius increase as the GM pitman and idler arms are shorter than non-IFS suspensions.

Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth and microphone
All LED interior lights
Power windows and power locks-all functional
Rear window solenoid works but does not pop the back glass out once button is released
Functional cruise control
New fuel tank, tank straps, fuel pump, and fuel lines from fuel pump to TBI-comes with skid plate
Hydroboost brake booster with new Copper Nickel lines front to rear, side to side (ABS deleted)
Custom built rear bumper-comes with an aftermarket receiver
Truck is on a set of rollers with load range E tires with irregular wear, but they’re usable.

Truck is located in Oshkosh, WI

Please see the build thread for pictures, otherwise I can text/email pictures of whatever you'd like to see: (9juan0)4seven8-8four0eight.

Can we get some main build pics so we don't have to try and skim through a giant thread?

Thanks, I appreciate that. I wish I'd have had the forethought to not do this on a Blazer but on a Tahoe or Burb though... live and learn.

Bump. First $1K takes it. Clean title, ready to drive however long to wherever.

You TTB swapped a Blazer, and you're telling me you can't add car seat tabs?

I was thinking the same thing.

I've had my kids in 90s vehicles since they were born. Including the lap belt in the middle. If that's your only hang up, there is solutions, I'm guessing that's just an excuse to get rid of a project you lost motivation on though.

$1k? Really?

There's quite a bit to it actually, but it all boils down to my wife won't drive it since she can hardly get into it let alone get into it with a kid in her arms to buckle up. Because of our schedules we swap vehicles halfway through the work day: I drive her car into work, she drops the kids off at the sitters at some point, and then grabs her car and leaves me the... ahem... minvan.

I thought about lengthening the frame and dropping a Tahoe body on it, but I'm still stuck with her not being willing/able to drive something tall like this. So instead of spending the $1500+ on a cab/tub swap (money is very tight still and will be until next year at the earliest), I'm off-loading all my projects but a CJ-5 simply because it fits in the garage and leaves lots of room. I've already scrapped out 2 project vehicles and have all my crawler stuff for sale. I'm essentially cleaning house and giving up any notion that I'll have time or funds for a project for a while.

The price is dropped to $1K because the body is junk and the trans shifts slow. So it's a hard sell based off of that alone. If I can't sell it for $1K by fall I'll start parting it out and probably keep the chassis out back tarped up for when the kids are older and I can do something with it. But I don't want the whole vehicle sitting around rotting when someone could be driving it and getting some use out of it.

Yeah it's kind of cheesy why I'm selling it, but reality hit pretty hard during this build that I simply don't have the time for the garage like I used to and financially we're strapped until the wife finishes her degree. This build should've only taken 3-4 months, not 1.5 years.

So moral of the story, is I need a stock vehicle that can be taken to a shop and fixed if I'm out of town for work (regular thing now), that can easily fit all the kids, and the wife can/will drive. Sucks but it is what it is at this stage in life. Have to make some hard compromises to keep the kids happy, healthy, and a top priority.

I get it man, my early bronco was torn apart in my dad's carport when I got a pregnancy test, that's the first one, she finishes 8th grade next week, got it "done" but never wheeled it, finally sold it, and everything else to act like a responsible adult. I should probably buy your blazer for her first car

I'd think being in AZ you could find something less tetanus related

We're 6+ hours from any wheeling is the other big issue. Another factor in my decision to sell off all the crawler/wheeling stuff. We'd be living in outside Asheville, NC if it weren't for my step daughter's dad-which is fine, he's a good dad. Just sucks we're strapped to WI because of it.
