Custom built Willys cj rockcrawler. The motor is from a 2000 VW Beetle, it's the 1.9 ALH TDI diesel motor and it's mated to a Jeep T176 4 speed transmission with an HPA motorsports adapter. Transfer case is a twin sticked Dana 300, with 4:1, doubled to an NP231. Rear axle is a Ford 9" with ARB airlocker and 4.10 gears, front is a Ford Dana 44 with an ARB air locker and 4.10 gears. The chassis is custom built, the suspension is true double triangulated 4 link both front and rear. Fox air shocks at all 4 corners, 10" travel in the front and 14" travel in the rear. Steering is PSC full hydraulic, column is adjustable and the steering wheel is removable. The seats are also from the 2000 Beetle and are leather and heated with full 5 point racing harnesses. There are two fuel cells to prevent any air getting into the fuel system and starving the motor. Tires are 36" Super Swamper TSLs. The pedals and master cylinders are all Wilwood. The roll cage is 1.75" DOM and is mounted to the frame. Basically everything you need to know is in my build thread. Price is $13000 OBO.

Stock front shafts? What's the wheelbase and belly clearance? Want to take a really long drawn out payment plan with almost nothing down and low intrest?

Wb = 94
Bellypan=24

Those measurements are from memory. I'll double check when I'm in the shop later today. Axle shafts are stock.

Payment plan? Sorry man, I trust ya and all but...

I haven't been wheeling in a few years and thinning the herd. Basically lack of use, I'd rather see someone enjoy it than have it gathering dust in my shop.

Rooney77 06-01-2019 12:05 PM

Reduced price 11k OBO.

Rooney77 06-03-2019 09:10 PM

I know I just dropped the price but due to some recent developments I'm gonna cut to the chase at 9k firm. I'm hoping someone here will get it and enjoy it.

Had this been for sale a year ago I would have been all over it. Tempting even now.

Anybody want to buy a Samurai with a TDI project so I can get something that actually runs? :homer:

Price drop for last time before it goes under the knife. $7k and it's yours.

Should it not sell this time I'll part it out.

Thanks, beat me to it.

I'm in Lufkin. It's a small east Texas town north of Houston by about 2 hrs.

I might as well put another dumb question in but have you had it on the highway at all? I know its not a dd but would it do 65mph to get to the trails and home?

It was street legal and I drove it to and from work for the first year I had it going but with full hydro steering and the short wheelbase it was sketchy over 45mph. Fastest I went was 50. It was never intended to be a street rig, hence the full hydro. Think of it like a buggy and less like a jeep.
