You know there are different styles for different years right. You need to match the input to the year of your case. Wide or narrow bearing. You didn't once say which you're looking for.

You also need to match the planet to the input if you're looking for one of those as well.

Thanks for mentioning that, but from my understanding, the input bearings can be swapped if needed.

Yea but not the Planetary’s so it’s best to match your current style.. pinion gear spline and ring gear are cut different. Year break is 94 ish. So if yours is newer look for a newer if older look for an older.

I have a 27 spline GM input that I pulled out of a NP231 with the planetary attached. It was from Advanced Adaptors when I put a 1999 TJ transfer case behind a 700R4 in my Explorer.

Thanks, I didn't realize it would affect the planetary. If I swap input and planetary, can I use a set from a later model?

This is for a 1990 NP231 so it should work, but that's nearly the cost of a new gear off fleabay.

Looking for at least the input gear, possibly the planetary as well. What year is the case?

If your case is a 1990 look for anything 1993 and older. It will work just fine.
