I have my bluetop steering gear installed that already has the ports for hydro assist lines. I just need to decide on the cylinder. Seems like Surplus Center is the popular choice. Would a 1x8x0.625 be too small? Next size up looks like a 1.5x8x1. I hear if you go too big, the tires turn too slowly. I’d like to stick with my stock pump if I can (1994 Cummins 12v PS pump), so I’m leaning towards the smaller bore ram (0.625). Not looking to be able to turn the steering wheel with 1 finger, just want to take some stress off my frame/steering gear. Opinions?

a quick search woudl reveal that 1" ram is WAAAYYY to small. most people go 1.5 or 1.75. i have done 2" and it was awesome but a bit slow on a stock pump.
