Is the 1.3 sammi carbed long block the same as the 1.3 fuel injected block?

The internals are slightly different. Early models (1986-89) are a 1324cc and 1990 on up are a 1298cc. The 1990 on up do not have a lobe on the cam for the mechanical fuel pump. All the external parts still bolt on the exact same like intake, exhaust, alternator, distributor, etc.

the actual volume never changed, it's just one of those factory things they do. all the 8valve heads will fit all the 8valve blocks. If you don't believe me check the headgaskets at autozone for carbed 1.3 and TBI 1.6 from, like a 94 or something. it's the same. but, he's right about the fuel pump issue, make sure to have the right head for mechanical pump, or else spend 20 bucks on universal frame mount pump and wire it into the fuse box on a switched fuse. no problem. jd

No the volume is different.

The 1324 has a longer stroke but the same bore. The block itself is the same other than the displacement numbers on the side. internally the crank and pistons are definately different not shure about the conecting rods
