I believe it was the KA24E
1997 hardbody
what engine did the 97 4wd 4cylinder come out with, ka24de or the ka24e? I have gotten 2 different answers from 2 different people.

The KA24DE is DOHC the 4 valves per cylinder, the KA24E is SOHC the 3 valves.
The D21 only had the ka24e.
The D22 had the ka24de.
The 240sx had both. 89-90 e then 91-98 de.
