2005'-up FORD DANA 60 HI STEER KITS
Introducing the 2005'-up WEAVER FAB hi-steer kit for ford superduty axles. fits all knuckle types 05-08' and 09'-current, retains vacuum hub locks if needed, fits up to a 5.25" backspacing wheel, has ideal ackerman at 110-112" wheelbase.

Q: I have a 05-up dana 60, how do I know which one I have?
A: this kit fits f250-f350 axles, or , 3.73 or 4.10 geared axles, not the larger f450-f550 axle.
Q: do you have a kit for the larger axle?
A: YES! see our ad here..
Q: what is the o-ring groove for?
A: this is the only kit on the market that allows vacuum hub lock retention if desired, by installing an o-ring in the provided groove and drilling the arm for a fitting. instructions are included with each kit.
Q: i'm ready, how does this work?
A: price for the kits is exchange, you send in your stock/unmodified knuckle to us, and we exchange them for a machined set, ready to go..
Q: what is the turnaround time to get a kit?
A: once we have your cores, current time is usually next day. inquire before shipment.
Q: what if my knuckle is modified?
A: if your core is not stock, we can usually machine it (drilled tre for example) but, there is an additional $100 setup fee. inquire before sending in a modded knuckle please!

I wish I had seen this when I was building my axle.this has ideal ackerman at 110-112" w/b, the arm does not line up with the stock lower arm. we originally had it that way but it would only allow for a +/- 4.0" backspace with a 17" wheel. since most late model axles use far more backspacing, we redesigned it to clear 5.25" backspacing. zero need to double shear for strength, but, using the tre or heim under the arm provides better clearance with the higher backspace wheels and lowers the steering a nice bit..
Since you already worked it out lined up, is it possible to get it that way if I'm not in a hurry? (I figure you don't stock it) What I was thinking was sourcing another axle and making all the changes I want and then swapping it in. So the rig is not down. I have 20" wheels with 4" back space, so no clearance issues.
I guess the stock Ackerman is for longer wheel base. I didn't even think about it. (Mine is about 110") Do you think I would notice an improvement? Can't say I can feel anything funny. Is it just a tire ware issue? I'm sure yours is strong enough. It's just my OCD would not allow that empty arm. LOL. I guess I could machine it off.
Any chance you have access to the Super D60 knuckle cores? I have a fat boy super D60 housing but can't find knuckles unfortunately. Obviously I'd like them cut for hi-steer and savers. Please PM as I may not check this

wow, sorry I missed this post. are you wanting the kit with the hi steer arm located over the stock arm? we don't stock those arms but can do a set if you want them. we have the 5.25" b/s arm in stock..I wish I had seen this when I was building my axle.

we have tested our kit to over 10,800#s of force without failure! :smokin:
ackerman is a tire wearing issue on hard surfaces, by optimizing it there is less scrub when turning in tight circles. (not to be confused with scrub radius)
No rush, I still got to sorce one. I guess I got to decide what I want in the Ackerman. I guess I got zero chance of putting 10,000 on it. What can a full hydro push? Wouldn't think close to that. If I had an accident, I would think my panhard would bust first.

just noticed something... does the upper hole not line up with the lower hole to make a double sheer?
correct, it does not line up, the issue is hitting the wheel, since it is on a higher plane, it interferes with the wheel, limiting wheel choices. since these axles typically used a 5.25" backspace wheel, we felt it was necc. to ensure that backspace would fit. it is not necessary to "tie" the arms together for strength like a kingpin setup. these knuckles are very strong. if a customer really wants to tie them, we do offer a comp arm that lines up over the stock arm but limits you to a 4" b/s wheel.. they are special order..
im running H1 wheel recentered to 3.5 i believe... hhmmm would be nice to know as they will be a common wheel to use id imagine...

yep, 3.5" b/s will clear the comp arm..
