WOW!! 7 feet on the ground, and with a bow!! That's some heart pounding excitement!!

150" deer is a BIG deer!!

Congrats Lara!!

God Bless,
David B.
Thank you, it was an amazing hunt! I've had a great season! He's at the taxidermist now.
Now just have my fingers crossed that the ~200" buck I have on camera makes it through shotgun season...

Haven't posted a pic in a long time and don't remember who besides Photobucket that worked for me in the past... any help?

Since I got a couple does last month I was antler hunting during rifle season here. Told myself I wasnt going to shoot a typical 8 pointer because we have a few really nice bucks on camera.

Opening morning (last Saturday) I had this buck run some does by, hang out on the neighbors property for a bit then come out on our side. I had a pretty good amount of time to check him out and he seemed like a really good deer so I said what the hell, if he comes out on our side im going to take him. Well he did but didnt give me a good shot and he was moving around A LOT checking out where the does were in the field.

We have a Spypoint camera out (uploads pics to an app that you can look at remotely) and got this pic of him while he was running in the field that morning. After he ran around our field for a few minutes he took off onto the neighbors property and I heard a shot that way about 10 minutes later so I can only assume they got him. So, no bucks for me this year...yet.

finally after 3 trips out to the cabin they showed up while I was there. They were real skittish looking up towards the cabin (I was set up on the deck). Spike came walking through first then the much more skittish buck tentatively looked around. Took a straight on shot, went in mid chest and exited behind shoulder, turned the lungs to jelly, left the heart and liver intact

Nice buck, congrats. I’m still on the hunt. My weekend of hunting was cut short. Will be back after it later in the month.

Got a buck this past weekend over the Thanksgiving break. Had to make a quick 150 yd shot right at the end of shooting hours. 8 point with a 18.5" spread. I ended up with 50 lbs of boned out meat for sausage and the 4 lbs of back strap and tenderloin.

Pic in the field waiting on my ride in the dark.

You got lucky, that looks to be the coveted "Blowfish" :grinpimp:

Puffin fish is the better term for it?
"Pufferfish", Puffin is a bird

you are right though, also called blowfish

Yesterday’s biggest catch. We also ended up with 3 limits of trout.

I wasn't sure of name, the ones I saw (Hudson River on N.J. side) had like sandpaper skin & tossed aside by fishermen because they were a "nuisance"

But you know the joke, right-

I looked it up, and it’s called a Striped burrfish. It is a type of pufferfish.
