Title basically states it. I searched found lots of discussion with little parts break down or newbie descriptions especially if going with plain mechanical setup. Searching for "rear steer ram" brought up:

I have no real practical reason other than the axle I bought will work as is for rear steer(kingpin Dodge front 60 swapped for driverside drop) No competition. Maybe a fun trip to Rubicon.

I'm hoping to limit this thread to the system itself and not the axle. Ideal is to get part numbers for a cheap, minimalistic, functional system. I'm not afraid to spend money if there is that much of a difference. The suspension will be leaf sprung in rear.

I have a very basic/vague understanding but probably have part names off.

First, I know I need a ram to push the steering arms. Is 'best' method using a double ended ram? It seems like 2"x8" ram is typical for Dana 60 axle.

Next, I know I need a method to control the ram. I'm not worried about auto centering. Ideal would be a simple 'left, right, off' type levered valve. What is the correct name for this? And what is a good/cheap version to use?

Next, I know I need something to pump fluid. My current pump will be running the front steering(Scout box) plus hydro boost brakes so I'm leaning toward an electric pump if possible for a second pump. I saw mention of a 2013 Grand Cherokee PS pump(P#52124998AH) Is there a better alternative? A second engine pump would be a bit problematic getting to fit on the engine 'easily'.

Aside from hoses, did I miss anything?

Surplus center has a 2.5x8 for a reasonable price.

You won't want to just use a mechanical valve. My buddy's dad tried that on a big stupid Rockwell thing with 53s and the rear axle had a mind of it's own, it was constantly bleeding to one side or the other.

I know there are some guys using basically dump trailer 12v pumps, but they are a little slower than an engine driven unit.

I believe you can tee into you current system, it just won't do both at once.

Is there something I want in addition to a mechanical valve?

A four port, three position seemed to do what I want.

I may have to look at this. Speed isn't something I'm overly worried about. This is just a toy mostly for around the yard.

I believe you can tee into you current system, it just won't do both at once.
The PS pump I have isn't a performance pump so I'd be concerned with overload.

I believe some some Rockwell guys back in the 90' and 2000's would use a Haldex electric over hydraulic pump that you could source from TSC. That was the cheaper option back in the day. Wired to a joystick. My buddy still running that setup.
