I have a 99 Tacoma with the 2.7 then 5 speed and stock t-case. I have the marlin Crawler MC09 adapter, but not the input/output coupler. So here is where I can either go with 21 or 23 spline setup in my crawl box. I am not planning on going bigger than 35-37” tires and am not a skinny pedal person.

My question is should I go with the standard 21 spline setup or up it to the 23 spline upgrade from Marlin, I have no plans on 4.7 gears at this time either.

You have to go 23. Even if you could go 21, I wouldn't do it. There is no need to compromise strength
