If you're ditching EVERYTHINg and don't have to worry about emissions, you should switch to GM ignition stuff. If you do that, all you need is your standard ignition wires in the cab, with a hot wire running to the ign module/ coil area.
You can run a 22R/ GM ign setup with only 5 wires running to the cab- 2 wires to the starter, 2 wires to a late GM alternator (or 1), and one wire to the ign module.
