OK I need some big time help here. I bought a truck from someone on this board last week (I won't mention the persons name) It was an 84 toy that had a recently rebuilt engine (about 100 miles on the rebuilt). Was able to drive it about 60-70 miles no problem. About 8 miles from my house, I notice that the oil pressure guage is low (about on the quarter mark) I'm like WTF, and then it drops more and starts to knock real bad and temp guage is going up as I am pulling into a parking lot to shut it off. Open the hood and there is some oil underneath the hood not alot but enough to make me wonder...hmm interesting. Oil level was full ( I checked it each time before I started the truck and was still actually pretty full when I checked it after shutting it off.) What do you guys think happened? I still havent had a chance to really look at it as I haven't gotten it towed back to my house, and it was dark when it decided to shit out on me.

Also, where do I go from here, as it recently rebuilt, I am not sure what I should do. Can it be rebuilt again, does it actually need a rebuild?? Etc etc. And if I do need to have it rebuilt, where is a good place to take it here in Phoenix. And how much am I looking at to get it rebuilt..if thats what it needs??

Thanks for the help in advance!

Hard to say untill you find out whats wrong.
Mark has spent many thousands of my $ over the years, he has always been fair priced and done great work for me... BTW My next project is going to be a motor in my '86.

Start looking into it yourself maybe. Do a compression check, oil in H2o?, do a step by step elimination process, but first things first, compression check.
