so, i cooked the sprocket on my husky 372 XPG so i have the option of replacing it with 3/8 or going to .404 pitch, how much nastier of a chain can i get in .404?? worth the change?? bar guage works out so i just have a few half toast chains to lose. Someone must have a man chainsaw that can post up. Thanks, JR.

sounds like ill stick with 3/8, ive been running stihl full chisel till now, not really disappointed, just figured it would be a good time to change if i was going to. I run a 22" bar most of the time, except when im clearing trails with it its a little cumbersome. Thanks for the input, JR

we have 3 of those saws (same 372xp (2), 371xp, & 570) all with 3/8's chains, and 20" bars. the 371 has been turned up and that thing RIPS! dad cut wood for 20 years and he always ran 3/8ths.

fwiw the 570 feels quite a bit heavier then the 371/372. it cuts good, but is kinda doggy in big softwood (white pine). it hasnt been turned up either.
