I don't know how far along you are, as to gathering parts/adapters and such. but my advise to you is to stay as far away from DOWNEY as possable, We went through them and learned the hard way. I ended up fabing some motor-mounts up after they fawked up three times, destroying 2 radiators...
Do a search, I don't know exactly what site it is, but they had good write-ups on several V8 combos with parts needed/prices. That can give you a few more options as well.
Thanks, for the confirmation on the Northwest mounts. I was hoping to learn from the mistakes of others as I have made them all before building the jeep up.
I found some plans for the cross member to do the solid axle swap so, I think I've got just about everything worked out. Rather than deal with a bunch of adapters, I decided to drop an entire Ford drivetrain in it and be done. I know I'll probably get blasted for turning it into a Foyota or whatnot.
I'm going to be using the AODE slush box and the BW case. (I was a fool 6 months ago when I sold the NP435.) The axles are Dana 60s out of a '78 F250 Heavy Duty. Will be using the Hummer rims, now I just need to decide which tires to slap on it. The 16.5" rim makes for limited choices. I have an NV4500 out of a Dodge that I may look into installing, but I'm trying to do this one on a budget and figured I could always goto a dual case later/ Just want to get it on the road ASAP.
