I have 302 from an 86 E150 with EFI. I can see that the upper from the HO 302 will not bolt to the lower of a non HO 302. My question is does anyone know if the lower intakes from say a 87-9x mustang be interchangable with my 302 or are there mods that would have to be done first? That way I could just swap out the TB, upper and lower from the mustang on. Its in my jeep and I need more clearance under my hood.

You mean.. can you swap the HO lower intake onto the truck 302?

if so, then yes. intakes are completely swappable between all year 302's. (physically..) I can't say if the EEC would throw a coniption fit because of it though. I imagine as long as you keep the injectors wired correctly it wouldn't be a problem.

swap will work fine. the 'puter shouldnt have a fit- although it is speed density and they are a bit of a bitch sometimes. if it gives you any problems just upgrade to mas air and then you can do whatever you want to the motor from then on.

yes, they work.

You can also put a holley systemax upper intake, onto a stock truck lower.

I just finished the swap you are talking about. I started with an 86 f150 motor and took the upper and lower intakes off of a crown vic and put them in its place. The only prob I ran into was I had to drill out a hole for the knock sensor on the drivers side of the lower intake, and had to lengthen a few of the sensor wires(nice thing only had 1 o2 sensor too ) I took it out this week end and raun like a champ. I left the whole harness intack from the truck and everything seems to work fine, no comp codes, no nothin.
