Was anyone that did a 302 swap able to get the Ford radiator to fit. I have a "like new' radiator that is still in the donor bronco and was hoping I'd be able to save a few extra dollars on this. I saw that some went with a Ford Exploder radiator and others went with the Howe from Summit Racing(Part # 342-B). Was looking at all my options. I am building a drop front crossmember for the SAS so Cutting the original lower radiator support isn't much of a problem. Looking for relatively "Easy" solutions to this, but want get it done correctly the first time.

Thanks.

as long as you don't mind cutting the front section of your truck up anything is possible and nothing is easy.. (I opted for the bed mounted rad <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">)

The best setup we found was using the timing cover, water pump, fan clutch and radiator from a V-8 Explorer. It is the shortest setup for the 302. You also get the added benifit of serpentine belt(get all the accessory brackets and accessorys) We still had to cut and rebuild the core support about 1.5" forward. Used hood pins. We were able to keep the a/c working. Get ahold of Kongs 4x4. He's done some 302 swaps.

Yes the Mustangs use the short water pump also, but the Explorer Radiator and the position of the a/c compressor fit the Toyota better than the Mustang stuff. Also, SVT sells an adapter to eliminate the AIR pump from the serpentine belt sys.

Thanks for the help. I'll start scavenging the junk yards for the stuff off the Explorer. A Explorer radiator has to be cheaper than the $429 + $110 shipping for their conversion radiator. Was trying to see what I could do to come in a little cheaper than that.
