any of the chevy folks tried to find out if the 32 spline input on a 205 or 208 is the same as the 32 spine output on (for example) a slip yoke 208 output?

i know the ford 31 input for the 205 matches the ford 208 slip-yoke output 31 spline. but the chevy stuff i have more of. and the for stuff i have to find. and the slip yoke ford 208s are sorta rare.

thanks in advance.

well, you would sure think that, especially since new process = new process.

but fixed yoke jeep 208 outputs are 32 spline, and slip yoke GM 208 outputs are 32 spline... and the jeep 32 spline yoke would hammer onto the GM output, if it really had to, but you might never get it off again...

was hoping someone had noticed and checked at some time.

thanks anyway.

they might make a different tolerance fit for a slip yoke than for a bolt yoke... but its still 32 spline, and should still fit.

thanks for the photo john e bravada. that is exactly how the NP 208 fixed output yoke and the NP 208 slip yoke shaft act together as well.
however, there is still a chance (slim one though) that the NP 205 32 spline female input will be the larger profile, like the 208 (and apparently 241) slip-yoke output.

reason i ask is that ford 31 spline slip-yoke 208 output shafts and ford 31 spline 205 inputs slide together beautifully... but i dont have a ford slip yoke 208 anywhere near me. bronco and f150 are fixed yoke. the F250a nd 350 are slip. and it is 80 to 86 i think... easy enough to buy the ford 205 input... but the ford 208 slip output shaft is the hard part...

thanks again.

question here...
a 32 spline input is still a 32 spline input.

what you guys are asking is if a 32 spline OUTPUT will fit inside a 32 spline INPUT. in the case of a th400 32 spline output going into an NP205 32 spline input, or an NP208/240 input, they slide right together.

nobody mentioned output shafts from the transfer case going on to a yoke. specifcally not whatever the hell you guys are doing.

could you do us a favor and use the CORRECT terms for what youre trying to do? Call Pink Pink. dont call it fuscia.
