Im just curios ... sheeesh. If got a three liter that im gonna ge putting in . I just wanted to know if anyone has gone bigger..
I want more power cause the dana 44s are almost done and im gonna be going to 36 inch tires
What 3.0 are you doing? I've got a ford 3.0 that I'm working on, I'm real happy with the projected fit. The only 350 zuk I have seen are the lightning conversion ones with the way cool stretched hood and front clip. Then theres that guy in Minn. or somewhere with a 289 to a fourspeed and a M715 tcase. He had LC axles originally, but I heard he went to 70s now...on 44 boggers!
small block ford is dimensionally much smaller (and lighter) than the small block chevy. on top of that, you could move it back farther in the truck because you wouldnt have distributor/firewall clearance issues. so, unless your dead set on a chevy motor.. i'd change plans. 302/C4/toyota transfer case setup is verrrrry nice.
Hey now.. I never said I think it'll fit I just know that it will fit 'better' than a SBC. I know both have been done.. but im not sure how much work is involved. Ford also makes some nice V-6's that are basically a SBF block.. with the front 2 cylinders chopped off. Those would be the 3.8 and 4.2L V6's.. along with that, they make an old 2.8L which is a 6.. I think if you went with an american inline 4, you'd run into the same problems as an 8. BTW, all those Ford V6's bolt right up to C4's..
well, im using my zuk right now for a daily driver until i finish putting my 44s and solid axles under my z71. after that i am going to but a tbi350,,700r4 and 208 in my zuki with dana 44 axles.,,,,,,and im going to still use it for a daily driver. its all good
I want to do the 22r swap on propane with 2 sm420 trannies and a toy case with toy diffs but money and time are limited.I have the diffs and engine both trannies and tcase now it's just getting my ass together.I think set up soft on some 37x13 boggers would be cool and I could leave the 4.10's for an overdrive effect. If it gets to sluggy just drop one of the trannies to 3rd for more power.BTW it is a LWB P/U so length isn't really a major issue.Weight and internal clearance may be though.
