i am looking at an ew tire and can't make up my mind which one to buy. I have a 3500lb toy truck with v6 th350 and duals. 4.10 thirds with a built toy frnt axle.

I run places like Hot Springs, Ar and Poteau, Ok

I am looking at the 39.5 Irok, 38.5 sx or the 15/38.5 bogger

maybe even the sx up front with the bogger in the back they are the same size.

A local with a CJ, 60's, 350, Atlas runs the 39" IROK's and so far loves them over his old TSL's. He runs anything from typical MO trails, to Disney, Hot Springs, and goes to CO and UT here and there. He hasn't had them long enough torun them at all the above places but will have in the next 6-8 months.

Anyway so far he's impressed. I'm thinking they might be my next tire as well.

I had IROKS and loved them. Much bigger and a little lighter then SXs. Over all i would buy the IROKs again.

Frankies 39.5s were the same height as the 42 on Daves Toy in the foreground:

Huge-freakin pic of my 38.5s next to Frankie's 39.5s:

To be honest, I don't see any way I'd keep the front end alive with 39.5 IROKs... They are definitely lighter than a 38.5 but until that ride I didn't know how much BIGGER they are. It's more like running a 39.5 or 42" TSL than anything else. If I did it, I think I'd end up trying 6 dowels holding the front hubs on along with some chromo inners. Maybe follow Zags with the D44 stuff to get rid of the 1" 27 spline inner shaft, or go for the gusto and put D60 outers on the toy axle like Frankie did.

Go with the 39 irocks. Everyone seems to love them. As soon as my 36s are bald, that is what i am gonna get. Big plusses are that they are lighter, and seem to work even better off road and WAY better on road than the sxs or boggers. So they are big, bigger is better, right :D !

Until shit starts breaking all the time and sending you home early.

Until I see someone beating their rig and proving otherwise, I don't think the chromo & long combination is up to a tire that big. The hub studs just won't want to play any more, IMO.

I know these are personal choices given by the preference of the person asking the question and that most people running 38.5 will look to a 39.5 as a natural progression BUT it is not comparing apples to apples.

A 39.5 being lighter(as much as 15% from what I hear) than a 38.5 is awesome, how about comparing that size IROK to a 39.5x15 TSL and a 39x18 Bogger. This is where I think the IROK will shine.

From above the IROK is as tall as a 42, my 39.5 TSL's measure abot 37.5" on an 8" wheel, definately taller than mine. A lot lighter too. The Bogger...well, no brainer, takes 60's to wheel 'em.

Just something to think about;)

I loved my 38.5 SX's, absolutely a GREAT tire! But on the new rig I'm building ('84 chopped runner w/4.3, SM465, toy duals, D60 front, 14 bolt rear) I want to go bigger and was originally thinking of going with the 39.5 or 42" TSL but the more I read and hear about the IROK's (they'll be coming out with a 42" early next year) I think I'm edging more towards them than the TSL, two of the reasons are the size and weight.......

Don't forget the R&P. That's been the weak spot on my axles 3 times now:mad: Even with stock inners. I think the toy axle with 60 outers is cool, just cuz it's kinda different, but may as well go for a full on 60 at that point. Look what Frankie did to his 8".

I would go for the 39.5's if you had to pic 1 of those 3. Boggers suck on rocks unless you groove the hell out of em, and are still heavy. SX's are pretty good, especially good when grooved, but still heavy. Iroks are light, and seem to work good all around. If you bust too many parts, go 60's or just sell the 39's. Not like they wouldn't sell quick.

i am going to have to agree with tntoy on this one. even though i was at hot springs i didn't realize how much bigger the Irok was over the sx. I would probly be looking at upgrades that i can not afford right know. I know the sx works great at Hot Springs, and allen (who runs 39 boggers) swears by the bogger and says he'll never run anything else. The 37" boggers I seen on the beater jeep really looked like they work well too.

So i guess i'll rule out the Irok unless I get the 36 which measures out the same as the 37 bogger

Im planning on going with 39.5 Iroks. Basically, I really like what I've seen about them, and I've heard good things. Better yet: unlike most of Interco's tires, they run BIG :D

The weight is a great advantage too. Not because im afraid of breaking my axles (60/70) but because im still pushing them with Hampsters. Albeit refreshed hampsters (newly rebuilt 22R) I wish I could find exact weight measurements though, does anyone have them? *searches*

Go with the boggers. Especially the 39.5's. I have run these for 5 years on my toyota with stock axles and 5.29 gears. No problems.
If someone tells you otherwise, tell them they are a bitch
