What do the 37x13" Boggers really measure out to be?
I tore up a couple of my 36" SX last weekend, and Ive been wanting to go bigger anyway, so its a time to go bigger.
I wanna go to 39x18 boggers, but untill I swap axles, this winter Ill just be fixing busted shit all the time.
So Im thinking about either 38x14.50 SX,( my SX's have always held up great). SX's work awsome at the hammers, but so do Boggers.
Or Im thinking about the 37x13 boggers, I know they work well in the rocks (especialy grooved), but will I gain much if any clearance over my current 36" SX.
I know that the SX stay pretty close to there sidewall dimensions, how about the 37" boggers.
My rig should be weighing in for Hammer season at about 3600-3800 lbs, Ill be running them on my current 15x10 MRT beadlocks.
Whadaya think?

I have never had boggers and we don't have rocks like you do. So my biased opinion is SXs!!

both are good tires but i like the sx's for all around wheeling. they are taller to so that can't be a bad thing.

Why Boggers?

I noticed on this board that they are extremely popular with the California crowd.

Here in Arizona you rarely see them... TSL SX's are far more popular.

Anyone want to comment on which is the better rockcrawler tire and why?

Anyone who actually drives their rig to the trail would likely prefer the SX's over the boggers for their slightly better road manners.

FYI - 37" boggers measure out to a true 36" tall on 10" rims.

Tough call on which to chose - the SX's would be taller for sure, but how about since you have already done the SX thing, and will probably swap to bigger axles and 39" boggers before these tires wear out - how about you give the boggers a shot and see how you like them?

Might as well

The Boggers actually measure 36.8 as the SX's measure 36.1

I have found the 37 Boggers do squat a bit more when aired down to the 3-4 psi than the 35's did. They will squat a hair more that the SX's too.

I have found the Boggers sidewall does get the "dragster ripple" in them when they hook up, and they do hook up!

Not to disagree, but you need to qualify your numbers by telling what wheel, tire pressure, etc. so we can get a good idea where you are coming from

I measured a friend's brand new 37x13 boggers on 10" Eaton beadlocks with around 20 psi in them.

Thanks DRM.. I Think you might have sold me.

I was kinda worried that the 37's would be too tall and I would get all kinds of rubbing and then cutting.

My 35's New were 35 and I had some room so I think the 37's will make it with only a little rubbin. Now All I need is a bunch of cash.

(Another PCE Post )

...What about the 38x12.5 SX? According to Tex (Who seems to know his tires ), it's 36.5"...

...I'm tossed between this (38x12.5) and the 38.5x14.5 at the moment (which, again, according to Tex and as the pic shows, is 37" or so)...

Boggers are sweet, and when I go 1/4-elip and coils (read as when I have a daily driver and a trailer ) I'll go 39.5x18 Boggs...

(I can't wait till this isn't PCE info rofl )

Thanks guys, I think Ill go with 38.50x14.50 SX. They look like they have the extra hieght to handle the needed ground clearance of my upcoming axle swaps as they come on line.
Thanks again

Hell the 39.50 are over $300 each, i wont have any $$$ left for spare axle parts.
Maybe youd like me to run my 36" out there for that FJ of yours.
Are you still plannin on having a rig for Frostoberfest, or you gonna find a date to ride with.
