why not just get a bellhousing from a (T150? T176?) cj with a ford pattern tranny, then put a T18 or NP435 with a ford NP205 behind it? though the 205 doesn't have that great of a low range you'll never worry about breaking it like an NP231...don't think the jeep tranny is all that hot either, i think it's either the light duty toyota tranny or the peugot gearbox
