Since my 98 Vortec 4.3 is at last running in my 82 toy, I want some of your input on a nice sounding exhaust system for it. I want something that will sound nice, not a tinny fart muffler, but a soft big block rumble would be fine! Any recommendations?

Big single pipe, A turbo muffler of some sort. The real free flow mufflers probably arent what your looking for, they will be loud and more then likely won't be low and mellow like you want. Look for more tame high performance mufflers from Dynomax and Borla. I personally stay away from Flowmaster jus because most people think they are the only answer to performance exhaust

I ran a Dynamax for a long time....nice mellow sound. I run
a single 2.5" Flowmaster now and really like the low rumble.
Personal preference though.

He he, B you can barely hear yours, but its your DD so thats ok. When I put mine in, im not running any cat and was going to run tru duals with 3 chambers on both sides, but after looking at the room I have, I may just go single 2.5". My Flowmaster is 2.25 right now. I want mine to be deep, but not annoyingly loud.
