Hey guys i have a 98 4.3 vortec, recently rebuilt, has great power for a v6 as most vortecs did. Anyone know if it will bolt up to my '78 Blazer? i believe the tranny is a (EDIT** Not 400ci, dunno where my mind was at that moment, now i cant remeber what trans it is) 400ci, (The vortec does have its trans the 4l60E but is a 2wd, yes it can be switched but id rather the standard blazer trans.) I know most chev engines bolt up to older/newer trans, but im not sure, dont wanna get to that point and it not fit. Bolt pattern should be the same but, im not sure about the splines lining up. The blazer doesn't have an engine so i might aswell make use of what i got.

Yes the 4.3l uses the same bolt pattern as any small block chevy

The one piece rear main engines use a different flywheel/flexplate bolt pattern, so you might need to get one depending on what you actually have.
