To answer your question. Yes I did a search.

What I need to know is, will my 4.37's (obviously 4cyl) work on a v6 spool in a v6 housing with shims??

Thanks

I don't know whether it would work or not. But if your upgrading to the v6 carrier for strength, i would think twice. With a 4.37 gear the weak point is going to be the pinion teeth, not the carrier.
If you really want to keep those gears, i would put a 4 cylinder spool (or weld) in it and run it.

This I know. But I haven't broken these gears yet and a buddy wants my 4cyl spool that I have now. So I bought a v6 spool to use in my newly aquired v6 housing. I just don't really want to spend the time or money to regear right now.

thanks

From what I've been told the V6 and 4 cylinder ring and pinion's are the same, I even think that the bearing's are the same, the races are just bigger to fit the bearings in the V6 housing. So in short; I think you will be fine if you get a V6 master bearing install kit, and use your 4:37's along with the V6 spool. Hope this helps. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
