I just bought a 84 runner from the original owner and in exclent stock condition.... anyhow...
I would like to use the Canback top with a truck tail gate. Whats the approxmite value of the top and the tail gate? both are in great shape and the window motor works smoothly.
and will the truck tailgate bolt up? or would it be better to gut the runner tail gate and use that?
thanks

i thought about doing the samething, but the tailgate swap if very difficult and time consuming to make it look like it's supposed to be there. you're better off staying with the factory rear gate.

Get a quote from TAP, then cut it in half, minus your age, and you'll be close.

I thought you add your age to the price?

Oh well, it don't look like selling the top will pay for the Canback LOL

I like the idea of 'not TOO expensive' - so- keep the runner gate, besides, arent U going to miss the window feature, or is that not possible with can-top?

Kyron,

Did you trade the bike in for a 4 wheeler?

Still in Pacifica? You should stop by one of these days, I can show you what NOT to do to a 4RNR. Ha,ha,ha...

The top will go for $300 in pristine condition, with the wiper working. However, it'll take you 6 months at least to find a buyer
The tailgate goes for $300+ complete, but as people said, the conversion is too much work. Gutting the tailgate will get you $50-100 for a very good motor, less than $50 for the glass, maybe $60 for the glass and regulator together.
