The details:
'85 Yota, factory hangers, 1.5" longer shackles, 22RE.
?? 1: How much lift from 44044's
?? 2: What do I use in the back to match the front.

I've heard everything from 2" to 5" so I figure it's in there somewhere!

Whaz up Tank! Actually, only 3/4" lift from the shackles (1.5" longer than stock). Then I guess I would need a 4" spring for the back.

...and so far I've got 3 different answers, just what I was afraid of.

If you're planning on using your stock front mounts with the 1.5" longer than stock shackles (3/4" of lift), you should net about 5.25" of front lift. I'll assume you're going to crossover or hysteer with this setup?
I personally widened my stock front mount 1/4" by cutting off the inboard mounts and rewelding them on. This allows for the 3" width of the 44044 springs and bushings. I mounted mine with the 2 spring clamps facing the front of the truck, the single clamp behind the axle. I also redrilled my spring perches 1.5" forward which moved my axle forward a total of about 3". Some guys mount them the other way, but I wanted some more wheelbase. I run 1" lift shackles, 2" longer than stock.
I haven't had any interference, steering problems. I've got Allpro's hysteer kit, it's the only way to go the first time IMO.
As for the rear, I run 63" chevy's with a 4" block and I'm just below level with the 200# + rear bumper/spare tire carrier, tools, spare parts, cooler, etc. in the back of my ride. I might end up getting a 1" chevy lift shackle at some point to put me above level with all the stuff I'm hauling around.
You will net 5-5.5" of lift off the 44044's, whoever says 3-4" needs to double check their before/after measurements. I haven't seen mine sag a bit since the install and they've been wheeled extremely hard. I wish they would settle about an inch, but I don't see it happening.

Ya know... I was hoping to maybe get two of the same answer. Don't know if it's the springs or the users but something is drastically wrong if everyone comes up with different numbers.

pmurf: Thanks for the info. At 5"+ that's more lift than I want so I guess I'll have to look elseehere. I only want 3-3.5" from the spring. Also didn't realize you have to run huge blocks with the long Chevys, that's a bite in the bag too.

if thats all the lift you are looking for go to the local pick-n-pull and find some stock waggy springs should lift it about 3"

You will net 5-5.5" of lift off the 44044's, whoever says 3-4" needs to double check their before/after measurements. I haven't seen mine sag a bit since the install and they've been wheeled extremely hard. I wish they would settle about an inch, but I don't see it happening.
He has the best info right there. You can take out the bushing cut it down to 2.5" and just spread open the front hanger a bit though. I have them and 63"s rear but I have done all coustom drop mounts and I'm like 8" lifted from my sas and looks like a 1' or 2" block is all I will end up needing cause of my rear drop shackle hanger and longer shackles. Vova just swaped them in and got 5.5" lift. hope this helps.

That would be pretty sweet actually! But with my luck I'd get a 'good' set and they wouldn't sag at all.

Steve is running the stock waggy springs right now and they appear to be sitting pretty well. The 44044s are going to give him another ~2.5" lift on top of those springs and he's going to be sky high. For reference, he has 33s on that truck right now. I posted them here under a thread called marlin roundup.

Frank,
He's right, sounds like you need to get some stock Waggy springs if ya only want that much lift. I ordered them brand new from JcWhitney for $78 bucks each!!
The part # is: 07RJ2047B for the "regular" 5 leaf ones.
And part#: 07RJ2047P for the "heavy duty" 7 leaf ones.
I am running the "regular" ones, and they are awsome==super flexy!!
With those stock waggy springs and extended shackles you will only be at about 3.75" of suspension lift.
BUT why do ya only want that much lift
You should run the 3" longer shackels and a 2" dropped front spring hanger with the stock waggy springs, then you would be at 5.5" of suspsion lift and it would flex even better because of the flatter springs and longer shackles.
Just a thought.
later bud,
