Im going to take the top off a 85 for the 1st time. How heavy is it and any ideas about the best way to store it.Its probrally baked on what would help loosen the seal

get 3 other people and remove all the bolts and undo the wipper wires and the washer hose.

store it on top of some 2x4's so the seals aren't sitting on the ground and mabey higher off the ground so dogs dont pee on it..

Or, just to be an ass...
You can remove the top alone, just be willing to scratch it a bit.
You can set the top on end, I stored mine that way for over a year.
It won't be baked to the truck, the seal is high-quality.
Don't put the "second to the rear on the drivers side" bolt back in after you remove the top, you'll break the rear window power switch, then you're fawked.

Fawking newbie. You should deliver the truck to my house, I'll make sure that the top (and the truck...) are properly stored.

I,ve got mine hanging in my garage. I just back in strap it up and pull a few tie downs and away it goes...

I take mine off in the garage, remove the bolts (see below) then push it up with your back, hang it from straps off the garage roof:
