I swapped a 5.7 into my 96 truck that had a 5.0. I got the motor started but it runs at about 2000-2300 rpm at idle. I've swapped out iac, tps, and the map sensor and no change. I can't find a vacuum leak anywhere and even redid the lower intake gaskets but nothing changed. Anyone have any suggestions for what to try next?

Have you set the minimum air value on it? The idle screw may just be in too far? What are your IAC counts at idle? What is your coolant temp sensor reading?

Not sure on any of that but I know if I plug the throttle body it still runs, so I'm taking in air somewhere. I found a bad gasket where the spider unit meets up with the upper intake. I replaced the gasket but I'm not sure that the spider is sitting in there properly or not, it's such a tight fit.
