Just read the thread, love it. Im no desert guy, but good tech in here.
damn. that would've been a great idea... oh well. whenever I need a rev3 perhaps.is the new arm the same piece of tube all the way through? as looks like you stopped the tube at the first flat plate then added another after it? think it would be stronger if you put a hole in the plate and ran the tube all the way. either way new design looks better then the old arms :smokin:
So I've got to do a serious overhaul now. There's enough issues up front that it's time to do a deep dive. Here's the list of issues:man you always get me all jelly with these awesome pics and stories from your trips. new arms looks super beefy after adding the extra plating :smokin: so got new plans for bumper and skid after lawn darting or just fix it and keep going?
The path of least resistance (er... cost) dictates that I just fix the problem and put it back together. It's starting to seem like I can get away with just a re-hone & new rings while reusing the existing cam, crank, rods, pistons, and all the associated bearings. I'll know for sure once I get a chance to drop it off at the shop.so whats the plan for the motor? just freshen it up or try and make some more power while doing the rebuild?
i want a set of aluminum heads for my bbf but have a hard time with the price as well. always have to be the fastest one in the group, even if everyone i wheel with has been stepping it up so only a matter of time till i have toI keep getting lured towards aluminum high-flow heads but the $2500-$3k price tag scares me away every time.
So long as I'm faster than my buddy & his ranger, i'm still content.
