Well I finally got rolling on the new project. Picked up a 88 x-cab body and a 89 4.3 chevy TBI with 700r4 trans for my tube chassis buildup. My questions concern adapting the 700r4 to a toy xfer. I have been looking at two different adapters the Downey 1.5" thick and the 3.375" thick adapters. Both will require new optput shafts for the trans, but other than length, the only difference I can see is the 3.375 has option of a reluctor ring to read Vehicle Speed for the TBI.
Which option would be better?
Can I get the vehicle speed from the speedo cable if I go with a 1.5" adapter?
I plan on running dual x-fers and if possible would like to get equal driveshaft lengths. Plan on 105-107" WB. Any advice would be appriciated.
