I have a 700r4 for a 4x4 that has a 27 spline input, does anyone know what it may have came out of? It also has a "K" on the case, which I thought was a heavy duty transmission, but I may be wrong. Any help would be great. Sorry for the dumb question.

i know ive seen a couple of 7004r's in s10 with 4.3 have similar characteristics, i think all 7004rs are 27 spline

The clue here is INPUT. Probably out of an early 1/2 ton like from 82-85

All the K means is that it's from a 4wdr. All 700's are 27 spline. need more info, to id for you. How many pressure port tap plugs are on the case. Size of the input shaft lock up. that will get us close. You would have to open it up to know anymore I think.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking that the later 700r4's were 30 spline on the input and the later are 27 spline input. I would have to look at it tonight to check the number of ports and lock up size. I'm thinking KWTMECH is right by saying that its from an 82-85. Thanks again.
