700r4 tailshaft housing

Quick question, will the tailshaft housing off a 2wd 700r4 bolt to a 4wd 700r4? Are they interchangeable? If not, what needs to be changed? The 4wd I have now has the 4 bolt to 6 bolt adapter to go to a Tcase. Can I take that off and bolt on a 2wd tailshaft housing, and go?

The tailhousing will bolt up but, the tailshaft itself is the wrong length.

I swapped mine the other way. The bolt pattern is the same, but like spasch said, the shaft is different. It cost about $200-250 just in labor to get them swapped because you have to pull everything out of the tranny to get the shaft out.
