The tailshaft, it must be removed, what am in for ? I am a seasoned mechanic but never on a GM Auto tranny. I am looking for a blowup of the 700R4, or maybe a little more info on the 700R4. Any help would be appreciated.

basicly everything has to come out of the transmission. i called a few trans shops cause i had to do the same thing to my th350 and one wanted 75 and the other wanted 100, i figured its worth that in just a piece of mind that its getting done right.

Pay the shop. You don't want to get into a 700r4 w/out the right tools.

ya i just switched mine, from a 2wd to a 4wd, and it wasn't to bad but i've also rebuilt a few 700s, it took about 2 hrs. if you decid eto do it make sure u get a book, then u really wont have a problem, just stack everything in order as you take it out. and if you want snap sum pics of it while your pullin shit apart. well good luck
