Ok having some problems here. My friend is trying to make a 502 caddy motor that is bolted to a 700r4 connect to a 205 case. Any way to do this? The shaft is to long. We need a adapter. Any out there?

I have delt with Adv. Adapters and they were great.... They sent a kit for my TH400 to the 205 and it was all there!!! it wasn't cheap but worth it!!!!

Anyone know the names of the other places that sell AA's adapters? I remeber there was a place that sells their stuff for like half of what they do.

I have heard in the past that you have to replace the tailshaft in the 700 and get the adapter. Not positive by any means though. I'm interested in doing the same conversion.

i think that if you get a 205 that was behind a 465 it has the same spline count and will bolt up. not totally sure though. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

Its the other way around. The 4x4 version has the 10 spline output. The 2wd has the 35 spline output.

Not sure if the mounting flage on the 205 is the same as the 203, but anyway found this on e-bay thinking you were looking for the 203 instead of the 205.

Not 100% sure if this is the same one you need but I've seen an adapter before that was to bolt a t-case on the back of a 2wd t-350 with the shorter of the two 2wd output shafts. It was a 3" thick aluminum spacer that bolted to the 4 holes in the back of the case. Sure would be great to relieve some front shaft angle too.

as far as I know the 700-r4 adapter is the same one as the th350 adapter, only thing needs to be changed is the output shaft. that will have to be custom as chev never ran this combo that I know of. you may be able to have your stock output shaft shortened and resplined if it is the right diameter?

HI,
I'v heard that you can use the 3 inch
spacer, but i dont know how strong it would be. You can for sure install a AAptors output shaft, this will have the correct stickout thength. Alsow, you can use a TH350
version 205. The two trannies share the same spline count and shaft dia.
hope this helps

Well after searching a few sites it seems that the th350 adapter will work. The out put shaft of the 700 will need to be changed. One post I found in a search at a sight said you could purchase one from Offroad Design for something like 160 bucks... I haven't called to confirm anything but it's a place to start.
