I was wanting to bolt in some rear springs of my 86 parts truck and was wondering if anyone was running this setup and what mods I would have to do to get about 4-5 inches of lift and good flex. Thank you

you can do the swap.

i have it lined out when i do my chevy swap in the back. you have to take out the one of the leaves. and run longer shackles and you'll probably want to get taller shock towers with longer shocks of course! rancho rs9012's at all 4 corners. you can also use ford f-250 shock towers. not sure on the year.

just do a search!!!!!

I heard that you could use the rears up front with the Rancho 2-leaf AAL. Are you saying they can be used as-is with a leaf removed??

I'm right in the middle of this swap right now in conjunction with my SAS. The way I'm doing it though should get me between 6" to 8" of lift, and stretch my wheel base about 6".

I ran that set up for two years. I used two sets of rear leaves and cut some of them down to put on the bottom. five leves in all. with the stock front mounts you will gain about 3". Or you can use all 6 leaves for more lift. Or block down and move forwared the front mounts for more lift and the alxe moved further farward for bigger tires. I run 36" swampers. mu newest set up is 89 rears main and second leves with four older leaves below them. this makes a 6 leaf 52" long pack. With the front mount forward about 4" down 3" and long lay back shacles mounted under the frame and a 3" body lift I will clear 38 with minimal triming to my 2wd front fenders. Just start expermenting. Its only time.

I'm running a 6-7 leaf pack made of '83 pickup and '85 4Runner rear leaves. Works great, details below:

You mean you let me get this far and now you tell me. Well I guess I might as well weld the IFS stuff back on.

I'm about to hang a pair of 52" rear 5" lift Alcans under the front on my SAS, I'm thinking putting the axle 25" from the front eye, and 27 from the rear, and moving the front hanger about 6.5" ahead of a stock '85. That will put the axle 4" forward of the stock '85 location.
