Hey guys , I just picked up a 92 YJ and was told to use the d35 as a boat anchor and get a 8.8 . Ok, so I found a 8.8. ( have not picked it up yet) and would like to know if the 8.8 u-joints are the same as the d35 or am I going to have to get a new driveshaft and because the 8.8 has disk brakes do I need to change anything in the brake system to bolt this in ?
Thanks on advance.

Ford has 1330 U joints, Jeep is 1310. There are 1330>1310 adapter joints to buy.
The disk brakes work with the disk/drum master cylinder, just not as well as with a disk/disk master. What I did I removed the membrane in the proportioning valve to have 50/50 power front and rear. A good upgrade would be a WJ master cylinder.

Check out my budget 8.8 build under my XJ. All the info in there.
