looking at installing a 3/4 ton chevy 44 up front on my toy. just wondering about aftermarket inner axles and u joints. I know warn and ctm is the combination for the 1/2 ton axles but I looked at the warn site and it seems they only offer shafts for the 1/2 ton axles. will these work in a 3/4 ton 44? what are people doing for these? moser inners or something similar?I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for.
They are the same a D44 is half ton. The ones that came in the heavier vech's were refered to as the HD 44. Thats what I have and I used the old part number 297x spicers
The shafts are the same. The only difference, besides the thicker tubes, is the 8 lug hubs and rotors and the caliper brackets. everything else is the same.
I bought 9/16 studs for my 8 lug stuff. Don't know if they will fit in the 6 lug stuff or not. Got them at autozone for a buck fiddy or so. Ask for ones off an 85 3/4ton suburban...
3/4 tons used 9/16" studs while the 1/2 tons used 7/16" studs.
