I have a set of 6 inch springs for a 85 sub and wondering what the difference is on a 70 chevy if any and what it might take to make them fit. I have all the parts springs for the front stering arm for 10 bolt u-bolts reer blocks and add a leaf.
The 70 is a leaf sprung and it all looks the same except for the front axel.
Thanks for any help.

i assume you are talking about front springs. i'm pretty sure that the first gen springs are shorter then the 73-91s. take some measurements.

the front springs are longer on the 73-87 trucks but you can relocate front hanger and make them work fairly easy and it helps keep the tire from smacking the fenders and give more drive line length which is also good but as far as the rear springs they are the same length but lets say they are 73-87 6inch springs than on a 67-72 they will only be 4 inch and that is mostly because of the difference in the hangers but of course with a little shackle flip then you will have 8 inch
