U will need a 44 or 10 bolt front so you can use everything from the "C's" out. With all that stuff you just need to weld on the C's and go. Call Dutchman or Moiser for some 44 axles that are 31 spline made to your lenght.
i have a 44(but its not 31 spline) how much do you think it would cost me to have someone put the two together, and are the 31 spline inners and the outer axcel shaft as big as the original 9" shafts, and if they are how do the 5 on 5 1/2 hub housings fit the bigger axcel
how do i call dutchman and moiser?
The 9" doesn't have an inboard oil seal. You'll have to fab one for each side of the banjo. If the 9" is going in a Jeep, or other narrow track vehicle -- you will need to use a narrow banjo housing (out of early Ford vans).
Personally i'd just put the 44 in the front. or add dana 60 knuckles and stuff to the 9". Unless you got a lot of money tied up in the 9" you got i'd just use the 44.
just my .02,

i was going to put the two 9"s (full width) under an 83' cj5, i have one of the 9" and the 44 already build with 5.13 gears and detroit lockers but i'm dropping a bb 400M in and i don't think the 44 will be strong enough to run 39.5 swampers (and dana 60 are hard to find and expensive + it wouldn't work with my 9") what i need to do is find someone that will trade me a built 60 for my build 9" and built 44(cause i have a 60 rear)
If you want to make a 9" hybrid, you best bet would be D60 outers, so you still have the trouble of finding a front d60.... So, just find that front 60 and use it as is.
