So my rig is to a point now that I thought I would stay away from :shaking::eek: But im sure a few of you know how that is.

Started out selling my blazer for something "smaller" and "cheap" and "streetable"

But it didnt take long.

So my goal with this rig was to be cheap. I dont buy anything unless I have to. That means making all those stupid tedious brackets and such, but It gives me a sense of accomplishment.

In my current state I have under 7k in the entire rig, thats including purchasing it.

Jeep has earned its name of Snowball. Because it keeps snowballing into something more than it was intended.

So started out as:

95 with the o so peppy 2.5 4 banger. 5speed with a teralow 4.0 kit on the 231 with a SYE.

4.5in rubicon express extreme duty lift. Spring under. d30 front d35 rear with 4.56s. 33in bfg km2s with only 1k miles. Also a brand new 33in baja claw spare. And it has a hardtop

Put a locker in the d30

Wheeled it like this for a while I was suprised what it could do for what it was.

Didnt take long untill i started messing it up.

Made some miniboatside sliders since the rockers got demolished in short order.

No brake so I cut and welded and sanded em smooth.

Then threw on a york compressor

Made some tube fenders.

Maiden rubicon trip

Blew up the dana 35

Picked up an 8.8 to replace it.

Was supposed to be the endgame axle

Took it to fordyce. Just past sunrise hill

Made some poly/lift motor mounts

Did the tank bump mod. Waste of time. Never even used it.

Redid mounts and made a flat belly, Was a big improvement with the 33s.

Picked up some 35s. Shocks didnt approve.

Also got rid of the foul YJ grill for a TJ grill.

Then it started going downhill.

Wanted to stretch the rear out with xj springs sooo...

Comp cut it and stretched it 6in.

Wheeled it for a while like that. It did really well with the added wheelbase and that tire.

Hi- lined the front fenders.

231/300 doubler

And did this to my floor to make it fit.

So the d30/8.8 didnt last too long.

Did spring over with stock yj fronts and threw a set of 3/4 tons in.

10b with chromos/lockrite, etc. 14bolt with detroit/discs.

And the crappy Mil MT tires.

I was happy with how it performed. The width was a nice change.

Decided to change up the vice grip shifters i had and built a set of cable shifters.

Little RTI action

So then it was time for a cage.

Found a killer deal and picked up a set of h1 beadlocks for 200 bucks.

Another rubicon trip. This time tahoe-wws.

Made up some corner armor, reusing the half corners I had before.

Threw some tube at em. Was a major pain :mad3:

Whoops.

Twisted front driveshaft, then blew up rear yoke 2 secs after.

Added more to cage

Picked up a winch finally. Its been a lifesaver.

Another fordyce trip. this time to WH3. I was alone and had never been there before. Was a great trip though, other than shredding atire.

Made some rock rings for my wheels, since I had messed up all of them bashing them on rocks.

More rubicon.

like your build, i love leafs too, my CJ has them as well, the cage is just spectacular, clean simple and functional, pretty much as a cage as to be, what wall thickness did you use speaking about tubes?

Thanks. I loved leafs too for a while, before they started to bother me. The main part of cage is 1 3/4 .120 DOM, the inside spreaders and seat bars and stuff are 1.5 .120. Same with fenders.

Cool build, what gearing are you running with those tires and the 4cyl?
Well since i am cheap, and I didnt want to blow up the 10bolt front Im still running 4.10s. My thought was to keep them alive with the bigger pinion. It worked and I never had issue with the 10bolt. Since I have 7-1 low range i dont really miss lower axle gears.

So the 3/4 tons worked for me, but I enjoy going fast on the rocks, and i knew the 10bolt would not enjoy that for long so I grabbed a d60.

Went with 4wheel supply arms and ran the tierod behind the axle. Welded it up and Also threw on hydro assist.

First trip out and i did this

So that turned me off to leaves even more than I already was. Seemed like a shackle reversal was a waste of time. So i decided it needed to be linked. And soon.

Figured since I had a 60 front It was time for bigger tires, So i got some 39.5 Iroks.

Did a Rubicon run in the snow. Was a ton of fun. New tires did great.

Got the Go fast bug after some playing with leaf packs, and shocks.

After dealing with bad axle wrap for a while. I knew i needed to fix it. Was going to build and Anti-wrap bar but decided it was a waste of time soo....

Bought some steel and got to cuttin.

Went with bushings frame side, 1.25 heims axle side.

Got the 2x2 .250 cheap so I went with square links. Plus I like the look.

Then this happened.

Wanted to 3 link the front, and didnt want to deal with the low slung part of the frame. Also since I had to move my steering box anyways, I decided it was best to start with a clean slate. Used 2x3 .120

Everything just barely fits. Was able to get almost 5inches of stretch.
