I just purchased a 96 Orvis Grand Cherokee. It has 60,000 miles and been sitting for a while. It has a problem with keeping memory to the key fobs. Seems that the seat, and radio will keep its settings, but the drivers mirror always aims back at the ground when you hit the remote to unlock the door. Anyone know a fix for this? This Grand is in like showroom condition and would like everything to work that way. Thanks

The memory setting of the mirror is bad, You have to set the mirror to the position you want it, then set it to memory. This process is shown in the owners manual. It's been about 3.5+ years since I worked at the dealershilp, but it involved pressing the memory buttons in a certain sequence.

Another issue that I remember with them is that the positioning resistance boards in the mirrors would get corroded, or otherwise messed up, and that exorsizing the mirrors fully up/down and side to side a few times would usually clean off the contacts on the internal sensors. If that failed, the memory mirrors needed replacing.

Hope this helps!
