So, recently (last night) the clutch on my 93 xtra cab (3.0) went out. It's been slipping for months but I'm a dumbass and decide that I'm going to wait until it breaks down. So, I have a transmission from a 97 tacoma (3.4) bought recently...driver side drop, obviously won't just bolt up but would the clutch from that tranny work in mine? I have $50 and can not find a clutch for less than $130, no job, all that crap.
Thanks

Honestly, I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't right now. I am not real familiar with the tacoma stuff, the 3.4 and the 3.0 use the same block casting and crankshaft, so I couldn't imagine that the clutch would be a different pattern, I think the transmission inputs are the same spline count/size, just a slightly different length (iirc). If the disk and plate are in good shape, it should work.

Easiest thing to do would be to stop by the auto parts store (if that is an easy things to do) and ask the parts monkey to set both of them up on the counter and check them out.
