What are the specs on the OEM plug wires for the 94 - 95 Discos?
I imagine they are spiral core, but are they magnetic supression spiral core. I've heard that the plug wires can cause intereference and have possibly adverse effects with vehicle electrical systems if they arent magnetic supression.
I got a hold of some new DIY 8mm spiral core ingnition wires, and I'm curious if they will be ok in my Disco, since I have a distributer, and not GEMS.

I was in a pinch after my last road trip and tried some cut to length accel 8mm suppresion wires. Here's my usually worthless .02:

Cheap
Easy
Hot Spark
Suppresses magnetic field just fine
Yellow color looks real "neat" under red hood.

Oh and explaining to the mistress of finance why they weren't as expensive a every other rover part, priceless.

on the '88 range rover, there was some kind of suppression device on the distributor that i took off, and there is no difference in interference but a definite difference in acceleration.

I went the DIY route on my 96 Gems.

20ft package of 8mm Silicone Taylor bulk wire 22.00
2 end kits 12.00
Took the time t seal all the ends with glue and have had no spark problem in deep water. 14 months/33k of no trouble.

Have 9 feet of wire left over for the next set.
