just wondering is the fuel pump on only if the door switch is constantly tripped? or is it just initially once and then it is on untill you turn ingnition off?

if it only pumps when afm is open, has anyone made a separate fuel pump switch to prime the lines for easy startup?

The wire to the starter solonoid goes to the fuel pump relay as does the wire from the AFM. So even if the engine's not sucking enough air to activate the switch(which is extremly hard because the switch closes with the tiniest movement of the door), it still runs the fuel pump while you're cranking the engine.

Just hook a wire from the battery, install a switch then splice it to the blue fuel wire ... done! I ran my truck like this for over a year.
