Wat are the best aftermarket dana 60 axle shafts?? Ialready have CTM U Joints so the CV's are out. Are superiors the best? i can only get them with cut splines not rolled. I had them ordered once and waited 7 months with still no axles so i canceled the order. I was told if i went with cut splines i could have them in a couple weeks but the warranty was questionable. I talked to a USA Alloy guy and he told me they had 10 year no questions asked warranty and they were just as good as superiors. Is this true what experiences have you guys had with aftermarket 60 shafts?

I run Superior axles.. The outers have rolled splines. The inners are cut. I don't see why the warranty would be "questionable" for cut splines since that is the way they come from them. I would think Superior axles are stronger than Alloy USA since they are still made in the USA... Yukon and Alloy USA are made in India. Jack at CTM makes a nice axle too, but more expensive.

Any chance that your vendor is the one to blame for the 7 month delay? I got my axles in less than 8 weeks (custom lengths).. This was during their busy time. Superior builds each axle sets when they are ordered.

I really doubt the Alloy USA axles are, "as good as Superiors" when they're made in India. They do have a good warranty though.

Disclaimer: not affliated with any vendor and I paid for all my sh!t.

Doug, That is a great price and you have great service....
My informed opinion is that Superiors are, well...Superior. This comes from much research and personal experience. They beat out the other aftermarket stuff, unless you're talking about Jack/Sandy Cone bling. But to be honest, the wait has gotten so bad with Superior I'd save a buck and go with Alloy USA. No personal experience but I've heard nothing but good. Unlike Yukon.
from all the bad rap your hearing lately on pbb about superior is it really worth the stupid hassle from them?
While I cant offer any input on AlloyUSA shafts as far as strength, I did recently order a set and thought it was odd that the yokes material around the cap was visually the same as my stockers(I assumed they would be a bit thicker) and the short side inner I already have recieved actually gets THICKER about an inch from the splines- I thought that was a no-no according to the Dana 60 Bible??? Is this normal for ALLOYUSA shafts???

I'd sure like someone to explain to me why so many people think that foreign metal is so inferior to American metal . . .

If a company like Alloy USA oversees the production of their products in India like they do, don't you think they could turn out product with just as high quality as any american company?

When was the last time you actually looked at an American economy car next to a foreign economy car and thought "I sure want one of those Dodge Colts rather than a Toyota tercel!"?

Anyway, I think that Superior and Alloy have a very similar product seeing as how Ron, who helped found Superior many years ago, Started Alloy USA. He is using many of the same ideas and stepping up customer service the way I see it.

I would not make the comparison using Dodge Colt. Not a good example of quality American made car. I believe QC is Japan is better than India.. They have been doing this longer.....

I believe we still have the best steel in the world. This may change in a few years. I know India has very large steel companies.

Superior needs to be careful right now. In many cases, the only way to differentiate you product is through price an customer service. They could have two negatives going against them right now.

The only reason I don't have Alloy USA axles is because the only options at that time were Superiors and Yukon. Yukon was too new and untested at the time and I was not willing to take a gamble. If I had to do it over again, I'd buy some Alloy USA for the warranty.
Hell the us ships all of our stuff overseas so we are probably getting our metal back in these shafts.
I run yukon's in my 4 seater buggy with 60's and 42's... It took me a couple years to break a yukon shaft. But when I did, randy's took care of me and sent me another set promptly... even came with a brand new joint free of charge! For the price I paid and how hard I beat on my stuff... I was happy the yukon's lasted as long as they did! I didn't even know they had a warranty untill I posted up the carnage here and someone from randy's contacted me :D I killed my stock spicer shafts in my 60 pretty quickly... The yukons have definitely been worth the money.
I'm ganna need some shaft for my rear 60 when I get home, but I'll need them cut down 2"s on both sides for the shortening I'm planning. 2 questions

1: Should I get them custom made and sent 2" shorter, then cut down the tubes, or get stock length shipped, then cut when I cut the tubes to make sure of the length?

2. Does anyone know the shaft legnths of a 78-79 rear 60 out of an F250? I've searched all over and every list has either front lengths or the wrong years.
I'd say the biggest issue isn't even in the steel quality, but in the attention to detail in the heat treating process....one that Superior easily had the edge in the year or so ago I researched the hell out of it.
