I lobbed off the front clip of my 'Kick and don't really care to put the factory shiners back in. I always hear that any light can be used as a street legal headlight as long as it has a 55 watt bulb. Problem with that theory is that, around here atleast, I can't even drive down the road in the daylight without my KCs covered. I can't imagine that the glare is any brighter than having the damn lights on, but I don't have time for WWIII.
So, what off-road lights are OK for street use, actually do a good job, and are kinda trick? I dig the ones that O'Grady is putting in his buggies, what are they? Anyone? Anyone?
Here is the only front shot I have of it so you can get some ideas for me, it will all look stock, minus a kick-off bar, and fenders hung from tubework. Oh, and no grill, I think the new grill is going to be provided by Ramsey 9500.

Some KC housings (not sure which ones) will fit a 5 1/4?? Hi/lo sealed beam bullb from a 79 lincoln Mark V. That SHOULD be street legal, as the bulbs certainly are.

This type IS street legal. The old skool dunebuggy/hotrod style.

Available here at CB Performance Or cheaper at JC Whitney. JCW has the wrong picture on the web site, but the correct ones in the print catalog. Available with sealed beam, sealed beam halogen or H4 replaceable halogen bulbs.

Or find some smaller cool ones out of one of the newer cars at your local U-pull it and retrofit them.

I bought some Cheapy's at Wally world and put the low beam's mentioned above. Used some soapy water to get the new bulbs in. Total cost ~$50, 40 of which was the cheapy ligts.

Yeah, I've been pondering the same thing. I lobbed the front end off my Yota and I want to use lights like the Black Magic ones or similar lights as low beams and use some high beams off of a Buell motorcycle because they are like 2" in diameter and I will hide them in the grill so all you see is the round ones. o if anyone knows............
